Will Tee started making music after attending local roots dances as a teenager. For a number of years his music featured on dubplate for a handful of sound systems, until his first release came in 2011 on Roots Revelation Records.

Meanwhile he had built a sound system of his own in 2008 and had been playing locally with some like-minded friends, calling the system Descendant Sound. Fast forward to the present day and Tee is currently working with many high profile artists for Descendant Music as well as other labels, including the US imprint Black Redemption.

His mix of driving rhythms and heavy basslines are regularly featured on leading reggae sound systems such as Aba Shanti, Iration Steppas, Jah Shaka, Channel One and more.

Dubcentral and Feedback are joining forces this evening to take you on a musical journey from Reggae, Roots and UK Steppas right through to Jungle and Drum and Bass.

"THE RENEGADE HORNS are members of the Renegade Brass Band, 12-piece brass band from Sheffield, playing Funk, Hip-Hop and Soul vibes. They've played gigs and festivals around the UK, and the full band will be appearing at The Tuesday Club on 20th September. Check out the band's debut EP 'RADIO REBELDE' available now. They will be performing live alongside Mr Meerkat, the longest serving selector of Dubcentral, who loves the whole spectrum of reggae music, from Rocksteady to 80's, Digital Dancehall, Ska to Steppers, Roots to Mash-Ups. Meerkat is usually found dancing around like loon."

A lot of people see the current crop of white dancehall artists like YT, Gentleman and Alborosie as a fairly recent thing. They'd be wrong. Cheshire Cat is a M.C. and vocalist from Birmingham UK, although if you have never seen his face you could be easly mistaken for thinking he was a true native of Jamaica with his tone of voice and reggae sound.
Growing up in inner city Birmingham in the 1980's, he took his influence from the music he heard on local pirate radio stations and sound systems, taking the traditional MC apprenticeship in the local Blues and dancehalls. The programme includes an exclusive look at the original Bob Marley multitrack recordings of his songs Concrete Jungle and Stir It Up. Steve Levine also describes the impact of reggae on his production work with Culture Club by revealing secrets behind the recording of Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.

Other contributors include producers Sly and Robbie; Chris Porter (who masterminded the recording of Aswad's number one Don't Turn Around); Tony Platt (the engineer on the original Marley recordings); Boy George and Mikey Craig of Culture Club; plus Dennis Bovell, the founding member of British reggae band Matumbi and the successful songwriter and producer behind Janet Kay's 1979 hit Silly Games.

This Record Producers is the first programme in a short season marking 30 years since Bob Marley died [on 11 May 1981]. It continues next week with Johnnie Walker revisiting the golden age of reggae in Sounds of the 70s; a documentary looking at Marley's creative period of exile in London; and personal memories from friends and colleagues, including Island Records' Chris Blackwell.

Peter Tosh found international fame alongside Bob Marley as a member of The Wailers. As a solo artist he released several landmark reggae albums and even recorded with the Rolling Stones. But he was more than just a successful pop star: he was a revolutionary and a hero to many of Jamaica's poor. He spent his life as a strident campaigner for civil rights and for the legalisation of marijuana. He was more militant and politcal than his former band mate and his uncompromising arrogance often landed him in serious trouble. For that reason, as this documentary reveals, his life could be as brutal as the way it ended. Grammy award winning film-maker Don Letts explores his career.
