Here comes another brand new Lion’s Den release. This time in the 7” format in collaboration with our good friends from Digitron Records from Zagreb, Croatia.

A tuff steppas tune with ‘Balkan Dub Defender’ Vrx on production and well known Italian dub activist Dan I on vocal duties. Well versatile, approaching the riddim with a unique ruff voice. The outcome is a powerful chant to Jah, a praise song called “Hail Up”. Firmly Rastafari inspired lyrics wholly merge with a pumping riddim, ready to shake any Sound System near and far. Digitron Sound prove again: they do not know any boundaries of craziness on using elements and sounds of the (dirty) electronic vault.

On the flip-side a ‘part 2 style’ dub version awaits the needle. Stepping into bass meditation terrain.

Of course a whole heap of work has again gone into an adequate presentation with an absolutely stunning comic style sleeve and label artwork - this time by the great graphic artist ohoroho from Slovenia - and as always the material was transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth, mastered with care and pressed on high quality vinyl by Star Delta / Delta Disc, UK. It is also digitally available.

After some many months of work and many different paths - from version over version over version… - this unique outernational collaboration finally bears its fruits and is ready fi one and all…
A heavy stepping riddim by Massive Dub Corporation (MDC) from Bourges, France, was given to Queen Omega from Port of Spain, Trinidad, for voicing. What came out is a chant full of energy inna conscious anthem style.
Inspired by the name of the label, the "Real Lioness" stepped into the recording booth to unleash her fyah and let everybody know about the ancient story and concept of the Lion's Den - not having lost any truth since then, relevant as ever in those modern days in babylon society. About always moving forward, despite the daily struggle, daily strive and fight, across any kind of barrier - believing in one's own mission, having faith and strength to spread a positive message. Queen Omega chants with strong dedication and will to fight for a better place.
Her vocal inspired MDC to rework the riddim as a live band and with live instrumentation and give it a little more rootsy touch. This version was then given to the dub and fx mastermind Anti-Bypass from Lyon, France, to take it into his 25th Toy Studio laboratory and run it through a crazy universe of custom modified machines in order to come up with a series of heavily dubbed out wet mixes, full of lovely effects and a lot of 'anti-bypass'.
But the journey didn't stop there and MDC went back on a ruff sound system style re-remix of their own tune to make you rock and skank…

So better drop the needle and let the disc take you on a journey… from Germany to France to Trinidad and beyond...

Both sides were transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth, mastered with care and pressed on high quality 180g vinyl by Star Delta / Delta Disc, UK - of course also digikally available.

Lion's Choice< series...

this version hails back to early 2014 when I invited Echo Ranks longside Radikal Guru for a Lion's Den meets Moonshine Recordings night to the old Yaam… we used the little time before the session and the next morning to record some dubs with Echo in my little room back then for some Berlin soundmen and had a first exchange on the idea of a collaboration… some time after this meeting I sent him a heavy steppaz riddim by Violinbwoy and he went into the studio in Leicester to record "Don't Kill Your Brother"… those vocals were then sent to Poland and got the Violinbwoy dub treatment, him creating two completely new versions… full power, full force…
as I love the style and works of vrki and his Digitron Sound project a lot, the idea wasn't far-fetched to ask him for a remix… and so he gave it the psy-hooligan-steppas-approach :P just a glimpse of what's to come after those good times we spent together this spring and summer on tour, in the studio and on different festivals and sessions… watch out for some tuff collaborations :P

"I Man Be Free" comes with two great righteous voices from Berlin, Saralène and Kali Green, chanting for freedom and unity. A real wake up call for all bredrin and sistren. A stepping riddim to make the bass rumble wherever this anthem reach… and it has already reached some dances around Europe with support by some big names in the scene...
